My mother worked at both plants in Oak Ridge,K-25 and Y-12,I remember going on a tour once thru the plant and watched how radioactive isotopes were carefully handled,by a technician using robotic arms,it looked like something out of a science fiction movie,my mother passed away in 1991,of cancer,as did another friend of mine I went to St. Mary's School with,she,was only 28,my mother was 69,in memory of them both,Nadine Grace Scott,my mother,and Dixie Ragsdale,my school friend,I joined this site.
