National Day of Remembrance
Friday, July 11th, 2008 | Posted in Day of RemembranceCold War Patriots sent 47 members of Congress a letter (read the full letter) requesting their support and leadership in establishing a National Day of Remembrance. We believe these patriotic men and women deserve to be recognized for their contribution, service and sacrifice towards to defense of our great nation.
While the nation can never fully repay these patriots for their sacrifice, we believe it is important that we recognize their historical contributions during the lifetimes of survivors, before many of their stories are lost forever. Only a fraction of these former workers will be compensated for their sacrifice, which is why it is so important that we officially honor and recognize the hundreds of thousands of men and women who served their nation in building its nuclear defense.
Call on Congress today to support a National Day of Remembrance for our nation’s Cold War Patriots.
