NDR Time Capsule Coming to Florida!

Cold War Patriots, in cooperation with the Masonic Home of Florida, would like to invite you and your family to a special meeting and exhibit honoring the contributions of Pinellas Plant workers to American’s national defense.

A “National Day of Remembrance” time capsule and living history project will be at the Masonic Home of Florida, 3201 1st Street Northeast St Petersburg, FL 33704 on Thursday February 24th, 2010. A short program will start at 6:00 pm with guest speakers. Admission is free to this special event.

The time capsule, and a special short film created for the first National Day of Remembrance will be on display. The time capsule is criss-crossing the country in 2010, collecting stories and artifacts from the nation’s uranium mining and nuclear defense era. The time capsule has traveled to many states including Washington, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah.

Moab, UT Time Capsule Event

Cold War Patriots and the Museum of Moab would like to invite you and your family to a special event and exhibit honoring the contributions Utah uranium workers made to American’s national defense.

A “National Day of Remembrance” time capsule and living history project will be at the Museum of Moab on 118 E. Center Street in Moab from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, February 5th, 2010. A short program will be held at 5:00pm and refreshments provided. Admission to the museum and the program will be free during this special event.

The time capsule is criss-crossing the country in 2010, collecting stories and artifacts from the nation’s uranium mining and nuclear defense era. The time capsule, and a special short film created for the first National Day of Remembrance will be on display following the event until February 26th, 2010. We encourage you to attend and share your own memories at this event.

On and around October 30, 2009 many nationwide sites will celebrate the designation of October 30, 2009 by the US Senate and House of Representatives as a National Day of Remembrance honoring nuclear workers, uranium miners and those who served in creating our country’s nuclear deterrent.  This day is dedicated to those who are no longer with us, including former CWP advisory committee member Janine Anderson, who proudly served her country for many years, and whose idea for a National Day of Remembrance was finally realized.

US House Approves The National Day of Remembrance Resolution

The United States House of Representatives has approved House Resolution 790 declaring October 30th, 2009 as a National Day of Remembrance for nuclear and uranium workers.

46th Anniversary-Partial Test Ban Treaty

It was 46 years ago when the Treaty banning Nuclear Weapon Tests In The Atmosphere, In Outer Space And Under Water was signed at Moscow on August 5, 1963 in order to stop the excessive release of nuclear fallout into the planet’s atmosphere. Testing was still allowed underground for many years after.
