In Memory of Janine Anderson
Janine L. Anderson (January 23, 1953 – May 02, 2009)
Janine L. Anderson was a disabled former worker at the K-25 Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant. She passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday May 2nd.
Janine was the National Outreach Coordinator for the Coalition For A Healthy Environment, an advocacy group for sick nuclear workers. She has also been a driving force behind legislation to compensate sick workers. The day after EEOICPA passed in 2000, she spoke at the White House to thank the presidential staff for their help.
She was a founding member of the Alliance of Nuclear Worker Advocacy Groups; which is working for legislative reform and increased benefits for affected workers.
Janine honorably served as a leading advocate and committee member for Cold War Patriots. She has contributed greatly to our organization and we would not have the visibility nor membership that we do without her efforts.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Following the graveside service, family and friends will return to the Smithview Pavilion and Event Center for a Celebration of Life Service allowing family and friends to relate their experiences with Janine.
Memorial donations may be made to The Janine Anderson Memorial , PO Box 213, Alcoa, TN37701
